Distracted Driving

Posted by Ann Tatum | Dec 08, 2018 | 0 Comments

Distracted driving is very extremely dangerous and poses a great risk to North Carolina Drivers.  In fact North Carolina general statute N.C.G.S. § 20-137.4(A). makes it illegal to text and drive.

Some of the statistics behind texting and driving accidents are pretty scary!  According to the Journal of Adolescent Health the maximum about of time a driver can safely look away from the road is two seconds but the average time to type out a text message is five seconds.  The National Safety Council says that cell phone use results in 6 million accidents a year.

Distracted driving causes wrecks and wrecks cause injury and death.  Best to put down your phone when you are driving and be aware of others who you think may be texting!
